Class Descriptions

Creative Ballet/Tap Combo: This delightful dance experience is the perfect introduction to the graceful art of ballet and the rhythmic fun of tap, offering young dancers aged 3-4yrs.

Creative Ballet: A fun and introductory classical ballet class for ages 3 to 5.

Creative Tap: The perfect class for learning basic tap steps and rhythms for ages 3 to 5.

Beginning Ballet/Tap Combo: A beginning ballet and tap class for ages 5-7 typically introduces young dancers to the fundamentals of both styles in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate way. Students will learn basic ballet positions, vocabulary, and steps like plié, tendu, and dégagé, alongside introductory tap techniques, rhythms, and musicality. The class aims to develop coordination, balance, musicality, and a love for dance, while also fostering self-confidence and social skills.

Ballet 2: Dancers ages 6-10 focus on building a strong foundation in ballet technique, while also developing coordination, musicality, and grace through more challenging routines and combinations. Students will refine their understanding of ballet steps, positions, and terminology, and begin to incorporate more complex movements like port de bras and epaulement.

Ballet 3/Pre-Intermediate: A ballet "3 pre-intermediate" class for ages 8 and up typically serves as a bridge between foundational ballet training and more advanced work. It's designed for students who have a solid grasp of basic ballet vocabulary and are ready to increase their technical proficiency, strength, and artistry.

Ballet 4/5 - Pointe: Our Ballet 4/5-Pointe class is a serious and advanced level of training designed for dedicated dancers who are ready for the rigorous demands of pointe work. This level typically requires an audition or teacher placement to ensure students have the necessary strength, maturity, and technical foundation to safely begin this demanding discipline.

Lyrical Ballet: Lyrical dance is a style that blends ballet and jazz techniques to express emotions and tell stories through fluid, expressive movements, often performed to music with lyrics. It emphasizes conveying the feeling and meaning of the music through the dancer's body language and facial expressions.

Contemporary: Contemporary dance is a versatile and expressive dance style that emerged in the mid-20th century, blending elements of ballet, modern dance, and other genres. It's characterized by its fluidity, freedom of movement, and emphasis on emotional expression. Unlike strict, codified dance forms, contemporary dance encourages individual interpretation and innovation, constantly evolving and adapting.

Tap: We offer multiple levels of tap for dancers ages 3 through adult. Tap dance levels 2, 3, and 4 typically build upon the foundational skills learned in level 1, introducing more complex steps, rhythms, and combinations. Level 2 focuses on adding sounds to basic steps, level 3 introduces more intricate variations, and level 4 requires dancers to master preceding levels or receive instructor permission, indicating a higher degree of technical proficiency and musicality.

Jazz Fusion: Jazz fusion dance classes blend the technical foundation of jazz with elements from other dance styles like contemporary, hip-hop, and musical theatre jazz, creating a dynamic and versatile style. These classes often emphasize musicality, improvisation, and personal expression, encouraging students to find their unique voice through movement.

AcroKidz: Our AcroKidz class for ages 3 to 5 is a fantastic way to introduce young children to the fundamentals of acrobatics, gymnastics, and movement in a fun and safe environment. The focus at this age is on developing foundational skills and a love for physical activity.

Acro levels 1 to 5: Acro dance classes are a great way to build strength, flexibility, and tumbling skills, and they are structured in a tiered level system to ensure student safety and progression. Please see the level chart. Acro 1 & up is open to ages 6 & up.

FAQS

What services does a florist provide?

Florists offer a variety of services, including creating floral arrangements for various occasions such as weddings, funerals, birthdays, and corporate events. They can design bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres, corsages, and other floral décor. Some florists also provide delivery services and offer advice on flower choices and arrangements.

How do I choose the right flowers for my event or occasion?

Florists are experts in helping you choose the right flowers based on the theme, colors, and style of your event. They consider factors like the season, budget, and personal preferences. By discussing your vision and needs, a florist can recommend flowers that align with your aesthetic and convey the desired emotions.

How far in advance should I place an order with a florist?

The timing depends on the type of event and the availability of certain flowers. For major events like weddings, it's advisable to book a florist several months in advance. This allows ample time for consultations, design planning, and sourcing the desired blooms. For smaller occasions, a few weeks' notice might suffice.
